Visit Party PokerSummary - Avg. 7.75  PartyPoker is a high-traffic site with numbers approaching 100,000 in peak times, providing a treasure of fairly soft players in a good variety of standard games. Plenty of multi-table tournaments start throughout the day, sit-&-go tournaments fill up rapidly, and you can find a seat in a cash game immediately. Tournament buy-ins fit all bankrolls, and satellites are always running. The software is fast and you can turn off the odd characters to simplify your table.
Visit Party PokerSoftware - 8  The PartyPoker software does not have tables with uncluttered graphics friendly to the eye, and its lobby, though recently much improved, lacks flop percentages, but the software makes up for what it lacks with high-speed play and stability. You will not go to sleep waiting for your turn on a PartyPoker table. And you will almost never hear of frozen tournaments or server outages. If you like fast, multi-table play, you can reach nirvana here with up to 10 tables open at once. The graphics can be somewhat cartoonish with a "Congratulations" banner for a won pot and strange-looking characters frozen in place around the table. But you can turn off the congratulations and the oddball characters to declutter your tables. With more than one table open, you can click on an icon to organize your tables automatically side by side, or another icon to cascade your tables. If your main interest in software is not its prettiness but how it contributes to money-making, you will have to like PartyPoker's speedy hands-per-hour rates, its quick seating, and reliable stability.
Competition - 9  With one of the two highest player counts on the Internet and peristent advertising to bring in new players every week, PartyPoker provides some of the easiest games at all levels. You will find 25% to 40% seeing the flop at 10-seat tables and 35% to 50% at 6-seat tables.
Game Variety - 7  PartyPoker offers the basic line of games: Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha HiLow, 7 Card Stud, and 7 Card Stud HiLow. The site has added a link to blackjack games and a side bet on Holdem tables, a proposition bet on the color of the flop cards. The variety of tournaments covers the gamut from $6 buy-ins to million-dollar guarantees.
Cash Game Traffic - 10  PartyPoker has the highest cash game traffic on the Internet. You can find a seat at a full table of Holdem in seconds. Even in its slowest times, the site has many cash tables available.
Tournament Structure - 7  Early in 2006, PartyPoker improved its structures for multi-table tournaments and sit-&-go tournaments. The starting chips in multi-table tournaments were increased from 1,000 to 3,000, and a blind level was added to slow blind escalation in mid-tournament. The starting chips in sit-&-go tournaments were increased from 800 or 1,000 to 2,000, and the blind escalation was changed from every 10 hands to every 10 minutes. These changes made PartyPoker tournaments friendlier to better players.
Tournament Traffic - 10  The tourney traffic is very high, matched or exceeded only by PokerStars. In afternoon and evening hours, you can expect to find 25,000 to 60,000 tournament players. PartyPoker has a higher proportion of fixed-limit Holdem tournaments than other sites. Sit-&-go tournaments fill up rapidly at all levels except the very highest.
Rake Amount - 5  The rake is not the most favorable among online sites, reaching 10% on smaller pots in cash games, for example, $.50 on a $5.00 pot. In larger limits where the pots are naturally larger, the rake scales back to 5% with a maximum of $3.00. The rake (fee) on multi-table tournaments is 10% of entry amounts under $100, 9% on $100, 7.5% on $200, 6% on $500. The rake on sit-&go tournaments is 20% on $5, 10% on $10 to $70, 9% on $100, 7.5% on 200, and 6% on $500 buy-ins.
Sign-up Bonus - 6  The typical sign-up bonus for PartyPoker is 20% up to $120, the maximum requiring a $600 deposit. It is easy to clear PartyPoker bonuses, which are based on the number of raked hands, not the amount of money raked. Thus, for example, 100 hands raked in a $50 no limit game clear the bonus as fast as 100 hands in a $200 game.
Player Bonuses - 8  PartyPoker has periodic reload bonuses for players and a point system (PartyPoints) for frequent players. You can use PartyPoints to buy into tournaments or to purchase merchandise from PartyPoker's store.
Promotions - 7  There are FPP tournaments and FPP satellites every day. Recently, PartyPoker has increased its satellites to major offline events such as the World Series of Poker. The site runs jackpot tables continuously with large prizes.
Support - 6  PartyPoker provides 24-hour help by phone, toll-free to customers in North America and many European countries. The support staff responds to email within 24 hours (usually).
Cash In/Out - 10  Deposits are made via Neteller, Visa, Mastercard, eChecks by IGM-Pay, FPS-ePassport, FirePay, Citadel, Phone Connect Card, Money Transfer, WIRE Transfer, EasyBuy, and MoneyBookers. Withdrawals are made via eChecks, Neteller, FPS-ePassport, WIRE Transfer, checks by mail, checks by carrier (UPS, DHL, FedEx), and MoneyBookers. No other site has faster withdrawals.
